My thanks to all those who participated in the, what must be said, successful rescue mission that was recently conducted .
All five specialists were rescued along with one fisherman, alas we were literally moments away from rescuing a second and I am truly sorry what we were not quick enough.
Without going into too much detail, the flooded underground complex on the far shore of the lake was where entered and it seems to be that the well that was within this complex was linked to another plane of existence. A plane of water no less.
All those captured had been taken to this plane and many denizens of this realm had to be overcome in order to reach our missing citizens. These creatures comprised of  a giant squid, numerous Skum and various species of a creature known as Aboleths. The final Aboleth was able to call upon magics and was protected by a huge golem made of stone.
As you can no doubt  imagine that to accomplish all this underwater was no mean feat.

Those taken had been enslaved and once given the temporary ability to breath underwater (some special fluid that these Aboleths could excrete), forced to work until the fluid expired when they were then placed back in a chamber of air.
All citizens should be thankful to learn that after recovering those taken from us, a few other enslaved creatures were rescued and the well allowing access to the plane was magically sealed, so preventing further incursions by these aquatic creatures.
This mission would not have been possible without all those that helped, from the information that was provided to the magical items loaned and the potions and scrolls created, to the actual volunteers that took part in the rescue, namely, Councillor Raynor, Tathar  priest of Madriel, William Betts  priest of Madrial, Ittitard, Danas and myself.
I have also been asked to relay the thanks of those who were rescued along with those of their loved ones.
If anyone wishes to learn more of what transpired, please get in touch and as long as approval is given by the council, I shall relay the tale in more depth.

The council hereby give permission for Raven, and all those who accompanied him on the rescue mission, to relay as much information as they want with regard to what they encountered and learned whilst undertaking the mission.
